Leseraum
(2022)

Natural cotton canvas, hand-painted motifs using screen printing ink.

Reverse side pattern screen printed . Additional materials include thread, filling, metal rod, and a metal chain.

Leseraum -Reading Room- 1 features 40 geometric and figurative images painted using black silkscreen ink. The motifs are memories that explore themes of identity, displacement, belonging, and movement, creating a narrative without a fixed point of origin or conclusion. The mattress background, screen printed with a pattern reminiscent of the artist’s childhood bed, connects the past with the present, signifying the space where identity and memories are formed. Leseraum functions both as a storytelling device and a space for reflection, blurs the boundaries between viewer and object, transforming individual stories into a shared, communal narrative.
