Lives and works in Berlin

Constanza Carvajal  is a Chilean artist based in Berlin. Her practice spans textiles, installation, and projects in public space. Her work focuses on exploring togetherness through spatial and social practices. Rather than negotiating between disciplines, she brings them into dialogue—creating relational connections between art, architecture, and the public and domestic realms.

Her work is characterized by its responsiveness to context and its emphasis on creating shared experiences. She explores materiality, texture, and the relationship between body, space, and identity—crafting immersive environments that encourage encounters and dialogue.

In addition to her solo work, she has contributed to the development of cultural centers, exhibition and interior design, scenography, and furniture design, incorporating participatory methods and strategies.

She has been actively engaged in long-term collaborations, such as with the Chilean collective Mil M2, which creates prototypes for cultural institutions and public space interventions centered on collective knowledge. Since 2021, she has also worked with DA SIND WIR* (Hamburg–Berlin), an initiative that uses artistic practices to explore the visibility of FLINTA individuals in public space.

Her work has been shown in diverse contexts—ranging from public interventions and institutional exhibitions to festivals and collaborative platforms—across Latin America, North America, and Europe. Carvajal holds a Master’s degree in Public Art and New Artistic Strategies from Bauhaus University Weimar (2019), and a Diploma in Architecture from Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, Chile (2012).
